What is Projector?

Projector is a personal video streaming service that turns your Smart TV into a dedicated space for your home movies and photo albums. Our mission is to make reliving your most meaningful moments as easy and effortless as watching Netflix. Available on Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire, and Google TV, Projector makes it simple to watch and share your personal videos directly on the big screen.

First steps

Essentials

Projector is a video streaming service that allows you to enjoy your home movies and family videos on your TV with the same ease as watching Netflix. Available on Apple TV, ROKU, Amazon Fire, and Google TV, it operates just like your favorite professional platforms. Your first 15 videos or 5 GB of uploaded files are free, including unlimited streaming. For only $79.99 a year, you can upload and stream as many videos as you wish, all safe and secure in the cloud. This provides the perfect reason to start organizing your home movie and photo album collection, allowing you to play professional photo slideshows directly on your TV.

To see our streaming service in action, we invite you to watch our “What is Projector” video below.

To begin, create an account at www.projectorstream.com using a computer browser (Chrome is preferred), as this is the most efficient way to access, organize, and upload content from local or cloud drives. While managing your streaming service is best done via desktop, you may also use the Projector mobile app for iOS or Android if your content is stored primarily on a mobile device. Once registered, your account includes a “Tutorials Projector” with multiple videos to help you. You can also find these in our Help Center’s Getting Started section, which contains detailed articles on every aspect of the service.

You can also get up to speed quickly by watching our “How to Get Started” and “Uploading Videos” tutorials included here.

Management

A well-organized library ensures your memories display professionally, just like movies and TV shows on a major streaming service. We recommend arranging your videos into folders by category on your computer before you upload them. For example, if you have a “Birthdays” folder, Projector allows you to create that category during your first upload; then, all additional birthday videos can be easily placed in that same section. You can further refine your library with optional sub-categories, playlists, and a “Watchlist.” Adding a required Title and description to each video makes the experience special, giving it the professional feel of your own family Netflix. This seamless process also applies to uploading photo albums for TV slideshows. While organizing years of content is a significant effort, Projector is the first tool that ensures your cherished movies and photos are easily shared and viewable on the big screen rather than staying hidden in folders.

To learn the specifics of this process, please watch our “Organizing Your Projector” tutorial video.
